GDT #32: Cardinals @ Braves (May 6, 2014)

Fredi: "When you pitch and don't hit, you don't hit enough to pitch good, it wears on you, and we've pitched good, and we've hit ok, and we're still winning. Danny needed a rest, and think he's ready to bat."

Why the **** is BJ batting behind Laird?

Oh, and fellow mods, let's not sticky this thread. This team doesn't deserve to have their GDT at the top of the site until they prove they can win a game.

Mike Schmidt retired on a May 30th (ish) after going through what Uggla is going through0

Uggla has 24 million reasons not to flat-out retire. He can get released and collect the payday and someone can sign him for the minimum. Trouble is, I don't know what the minimum salary is in t-ball leagues.

The negative of JUP in the two-hole is that our cleanup hitter now sits 1 of 3 games and we have NO cleanup hitter besides maybe BJ? I still woke Justin back in the cleanup spot and Simba or CJoh in the two-hole... something else.

Fredi: "When you pitch and don't hit, you don't hit enough to pitch good, it wears on you, and we've pitched good, and we've hit ok, and we're still winning. Danny needed a rest, and think he's ready to bat."

If that's parody, it's brilliant. If not, it's word salad.

Peralta has seen Floyd the most in their starting lineup. Hitting like .260 against him the last five seasons.

Indeed. Its really impossible to construct a lineup when your entire team is hitting .180 like we've been. But CJ at clean up is mind blowingly dumb. He has 4 RBIs this year.
At this point it's hard to say if anything is dumb. Nothing has been working lately. I will give Fredi is props for trying different lineups and seeing if they can hit one game. My complaint today is that Pena is back on the bench.

holy ****

For some reason this organization believes Laird is a good hitter. I don't know why, but they really do.
