Pete Rose, Shoeless Joe Jackson Now Eligible For The Hall Of Fame

Sucks they waited until Pete died…. But that’s what they were waiting for in the first place. At least his family will be able to see and celebrate it.
 
Are bbw allowed to vote for them? Figured this would have to be a veterans committee vote.

It is a Veterans Committee thing. They have the possibility of being on the ballot in 2027. I don't see Rose or Jackson getting 12 votes.
 
I could see Shoeless Joe before Rose. Shoeless Joe has more of an innocent aura around him. And he took money at a time when players were paid peanuts.

I'd almost gurantee that Shoeless Joe gets in. Rose? Dude was a pedo among other things. WIth everything that has come out about him I doubt the committee puts him in if they aren't pushing Bonds or Clemens through.
 
Fun fact, Shoeless Joe Jackson hit better than our hitters in the playoffs when he was paid to lose. Imagine a pitcher throws 7 innings allowing only 1 run in the WS then he gets banned for being paid to lose.

It's been over 100 years so who really knows at this point. But the story is that he played poor defense on purpose and that he gave away ABs with runners on early in the series. The Sox were down 4-1 in the series (was a best of 9 that year) befoe he had an rbi.
 
They should induct Jacksons shoes to the HoF. On a side not Manfred needs be banned from the HoF. Start a hall of shame with him as the first inductee.
