yeah...elon is entitled to a safe space...seeing how he is a private citizen and all that
I don’t think he’s entitled to safety from public scrutiny for any of his actions. He has absolutely, positively no qualms with accepting any of the positive publicity associated with his government work, but the knife cuts both ways. He made statements and took actions that were going to be politically divisive and he gets what he gets in the court of public opinion. But CBS isn’t reporting the urgent news here, they’re interviewing Elon for ratings for the prime time television slot. If the footage isn’t compelling, it’s because CBS put it on the air.

To be fair, I suspect the causal relationship here isn’t completely straight forward. First, mental health is one of the worst covered services under most health plans, so the folks pushing for more government funding for healthcare are going to earn some voters. Second, I think the overlap between the Democratic base and people with better access to therapy such as those in urban or suburban environments is likely to be statistically significant. If you’re depressed and live in New York, you’re likely to find more options available to you than if you live in the sticks in West Virginia.

My other explanation was just going to be that it’s depressing to be right about everything and have the country ignore that and elect Trump anyway.
You could always blow your brains out like the folks in red states do. Hundred percent cure for depression.

Hahaha... I was close to posting "time for nsacpi to post about suicide rates in red states" but opted not to bc id figured you'd learned by now

There are multiple studies showcasing that liberal people are crazy, on crazy pills, and depressed. Its the ideology. Everything is terrible. The country is racist. Its fascist. Climate change will kill us. Etc etc

Terrible way to live

The facts are pretty clear: liberals are more likely to report mental health problems. Conservatives are more likely to blow their brains out.

I realize that nsacpi wants to pretend this isn't an issue. But do reasonable dems have an opinion here that isn't "liberals are more likely to admit to needing mental health"

Do y'all not have convent about 45% of liberals reporting poor mental health? that seems like a crisis to me

it sure does

and deaths of despair fall most heavily among the hard-core maga demographic

in both cases the correlation is not proof of causality caveat applies

Assessment of mental health care by state.

The best: Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts

The worst: Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi

I would hazard a guess that there is also a blue-red divide in the social stigma associated with having a mental health condition. Would likely affect public policy as well as rates of self-reported mental health problems. Just like fewer people report being gay in certain parts of the country even while consuming gay porn at the same rate as the rest of the country.

Shouldn’t we be applauding those that don’t take anyone with them vs the loony lefties that shoot up white schools and light Jews on fire with their mental illness ?
