GDT 6/15: Happy Father’s Day Special!

The more likely Braves outcome is the team does manage to get on enough of a run to where they are back over .500 and within a couple games of the Wild Card and AA decides to stand pat or do something very minimal with the excuse that Lopez and Jimenez will be back to help the pen. The team then stumbles back to finish 82-80.
 
When Ozzie and Harris are hitting, you can deal with Allen and LF. The problem is they aren't hitting, and I'm not sure they ever will again.
 
If the expectation from the front office is that this is still a season we are going to try to win, then AA is going to have to be unorthodox and be aggressive in the trade market now. Call up the seven or so teams that are already fully out of it and get some deals done. Trade Murphy and one or two of these pitchers who are going to need TJS in a year or two anyway. This team needs a major shakeup in personnel immediately. We don’t have time to wait.
 
CJ spouting off about how this was a series win.... When you have two 0-7 stretches in the first 60 games, you can't afford just a "series win" against the worst MLB team of all time --and you lost to them twice.

I don't see why we'd dump Profar. He can't play in the playoffs anyway and he has 2 more years left on his deal. May as well see what we have. Iggy and Ozuna need to be traded though.

There's no reason to trade Murphy this season. He's a potential offseason trade piece. We need to see how Baldwin develops the rest of the year and figure out how we should design our roster for next year. It would be ideal if Baldwin could take some OF and 1B reps in the offseason.

They will have 50-60 games to go ahead and try that. Why wait? Baldwin should go back to AAA and work on that.

I’m not letting the offense off the hook. If it were better we’d probably have 20 more wins… but the pen has spectacularly imploded in more games than I can count.
