GDT 6/15: Happy Father’s Day Special!

Kyle Tucker will be available for nothing but money and a comp pick this winter if we are all of a sudden in a money spending mood. And he doesn't come with the drama that Devers brings.
 
there's no way the braves will get Tucker. Have you guys not been paying attention for the last decade? He will be a dodger, cub, Red Sox, met, or yankee

Exactly. AA calls with some stupid low ball offer just to get the braves mentioned after the fact to get brave fans to think AA is actually trying to do something. Dude is scared of his own shadow... he won't make a ballsy move again after the FF deal

no, we don’t need to calm down. AA doesn’t need to rest on his laurels and he needs to make this club a lot better than it is now. As constructed it's dumpster fire and he’s the head of the snake.

I am not saying he would be dumb enough to create two holes and ship two prospects for one guy who is over paid.. I am saying that other GMs know he is desperate and are trying to exploit it. AA will get to bring in a new manager for next season and have a fully healthy team (hopefully) If the shit goes sideways again next year, then he will have to be the next to go. He knows that, other GM's know that. Attendance is starting to slack a little.. it will only get worse as the team continues to flounder.
 
There's a report that Henry vetoed a possible Devers deal that would have the Sox paying some of his salary in what would be assumed a better return. Whether that was the Braves or not who knows.

I'd hope we would use Murphy for better resources. I'll take Kyle Tucker over Devers any day so if any of that was true then just use that money towards him in the offseason. Taking on Devers money they would have to eat Profars deal also.

I think AA surprises us this winter and goes on a spending spree. His job isn't in jeopardy but his seat is starting to warm up. Even the Braves media guys have been throwing the team under the bus this year and that's never happened so everybody has taken notice even the casual fans. He will do something big this winter to put the team back on top and I think 2 of Cease, Tucker, Bichette will be in play. If Profar comes back and completely bombs then I think he goes after Tucker hard.

Which would be extremely useful if giving Olson and Riley days to “rest” and DH. Our organization has a constant record of overhyping pitching prospects. I’m not concerned.

I'm guessing the 2 prospects drove the Braves away but he's owed a lot of money so they would have had to eat some with 8 years left on the deal
 
Plus he already showed how big of a baby he was in Boston and the Red Sox had just gotten over .500 and won 5 in a row so he must have been a real headache.
 
I would have been very disappointed if the Braves had given up both Ozuna and Murphy for a guy without a position and owed a lot of money. He’s good, but doesn’t really make the team better in the long run.

So many needs to fill. Devers fills one, but ignores the rest and at a very high cost.

I could see trading both Murphy and Ozuna, but putting them in the same deal is not the way to maximize their value.
