Sale to 15-Day IL With Fractured Ribcage

Bowman seems to think mid-August for sale. lol, that's terrible imo. Here's an article about kamara playing with a broken hand and ribs... in yhe NFL at RB. Baseball is so soft
Buddy, you try throwing a baseball from a pitcher’s wind up at full effort 100 times a game with a broken rib and tell me how that works out for you.

I can't tell if you are serious or not....

But it certainly seems like you are. So you think a pitcher with broken ribs is going to be able play through that with no affect on his mechanics, his velocity, his stamina, etc.?

I mean jeez dude, even something a small as a blister can have huge impacts on a pitcher's effectiveness, but somehow a pitcher is soft for not playing through multiple broken ribs......

Are you trying to break a record for terrible takes in a month?
Do you think it affected AK and Drew brees?

Yeah, AK getting hit in the ribs by nfl defenders an easier. And again, Brees at 39 played several games with broken ribs. He had to use throwing mechanics while actually getting hit

Sure it affected them. But they aren't throwing a baseball to opposing hitters. You understand that right?

It isn't that Sale or any other pitcher for that matter CAN'T play with broken ribs. I am very sure they could. But there is zero chance they would actually be effective. And if a pitcher isn't effective, why the hell would you continue to throw him out there?

Dude, Brees wasn't trying to paint the corner of a strike zone and trying to tunnel his pitches. We've literally seen how mediocre Strider looks when he's throwing 94-95 instead of 96+. But somehow, Sale with broken ribs should be expected to continue pitching without having any sort of effect on his velocity, mechanics, location, etc? Is that what you are claiming?

And I am not sure how you missed the fact that both of those 2 football players did indeed miss several games for those injuries. So I am not entirely sure what point you are trying to make.

nfl qb is the toughest position in sports to play. QBs routinely play with broken ribs, and they play effectively. I have no idea how effective/ineffective sale would be. This season is over anyway, so no need to do it. Somehow I thing if old man Brees could play with 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung, sale could throw a baseball.

yes, we are talking about completely different sports with different equipment trying to accomplish completely different goals. Football, especially RB, is not about precision and execution over a large repetitive sample size.. it is about avoiding getting hit in the ribs, but wearing as much gear as possible and probably many shots to decrease the pain.

I had 10 broken ribs and it wasn't contact that hurt, it was movement from my upper body.. sitting up, sneezing, anything around to core was painful.. was it bearable.. sure.. but I would not want to do it 75 times over 2 hours.

For a QB, it's about timing. For a RB, it's not really effecting how fast they run or their ability to catch the ball. And I am not sure how you missed the fact that both of those 2 football players did indeed miss several games for those injuries. So I am not entirely sure what point you are trying to make.
AK didn't miss any games.
Brees missed 4 weeks. His injuries were much more serious.

there is no way a doctor allowed Brees to play with a collapsed lung.. another injury I had to deal with along with the broken ribs.. but until it "inflates', you are on breathing apparatuses. Once healed, it doesn't really affect anything at that point other than maybe shortness of breathe occasionally.

Brees took this snap count with 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung - 52, 73, 64, 75 (playoffs), 60 (playoffs).

I'm mainly just pissed at the world, so felt like bragging on my boy Brees for being a BA that wouldn't let anything keep him from playing.

Now like my saints, my braves are has beens too.

Do you not understand it's not whether he CAN throw a baseball and specifically whether he can be effective? Seriously dude, sit the fuck down on this one. Pitcher's struggle to be effective with something as small as blister. It has nothing at all to do with toughness.

Guess that was why he missed 4 games then. Article doesn't say he played with it. I misremembered. 11 broken ribs is still quite a feat to play, and play effectively

Funny how all the high profile dual athlete guys like Deion, Kyler Murray, Brian Jordan, etc all say that baseball is the more difficult sport to be good at.

Well we do have a sample to look at...

Vs Alonso:
1 - 94.1 fastball (ball)
2- 92.5 fastball (strike)
3- 93.4 fastball (strike)
4 -96.1 fastball (strike)

Vs nimmo:
1 - 95.0 fastball (strike)
2 - 96.4 fastball (strike)
3 - 81.0 slider (ball)
4 - 82.3 slider (single 63.8 EV)

For reference, here's the last 3 fastballs and sliders before injury...

Fastball: 94.1, 94.8, 94.2
Slider: 78.9, 81.3, 81.0

Kyler Murray would be a good one to listen to if he were at good nfl qb.

DB in the nfl is nothing like playing qb

You don't think nfl qb requires precision... we talking about Brees now. Dude had no arm left, so it was all about precision for him
