#Braves Wood said he understands because he's on pace for 200 inn and they also need bullpen help

#Braves Wood: "If that's what's best for the team I'm Ok with it." Hopes he's not in pen too long

~~~
This was the right move for right now. I'd immediately give him the set-up role.
Well....with Avilan struggling a bit, I like this move. I don't like it in the long term, but it fits for the moment.
I like his attitude in willing to help where asked.
Wood was identified by management as a pitcher who didn't have an arm problem. After he's yoyo'ed back and forth between the pen and rotation about 4 or 5 times this year, it should take care of the problem of him being healthy.
We need to find a way to keep Wood at 180 innings or less. There are various ways of doing this. But skipping a start here and there is one way. I'm ok with this as long as it doesn't continue too long. Harang is going to be huge on Saturday.
Btw DOB recently wrote something about Venters' progress. He is starting to throw breaking balls off the mound. The earliest he might be back would be mid-June. So realistically, lets say July.
Sure hope it's not for long. Harang will turn into a pumpkin at some point, I just hope we're smart enough to realize it and put Wood back in the rotation when it happens. Also this is a serious blow to two of my fantasy teams =/
that's the thing, its Wood, until Harang starts sucking, then Wood's back starting and Harang goes to the pen, or beyond. We should be hoping Harang can put together a few more good starts, otherwise we won't be able to limit Wood's innings much.
So its Teheran, Santana, Floyd, Minor, Harang.
there is an innings limit with Wood. I hope we'll be playing games that matter late in the year. I'd rather have him available to pitch in October.
It makes sense......I'd see if someone who was desperate for pitching will take Floyd if they agree to take Uggla...but it will never happen.
That's interesting...
Floyd plus Uggla for essentially nothing might be an intriguing option for some teams at the deadline.
If you value Uggla at replacement level, you are asking a team to pay what's left of Uggla's 2014 salary, Uggla's 2015 salary and what's left of Floyd's 2014 salary for Floyd. Is Floyd that good?!?!
Maybe for a team that needs a mid rotation starter, has cash, but doesn't have any prospects worthy of getting a solid starter. Maybe a rich AL team with a poor farm system that could try Uggla at DH? Who knows...just spit balling.
Predictable, dumb move......how do you keep Harang in the roto over Wood?
Because Harang is fodder and Wood will be apart of this team for years to come. Wood is on an innings limit so how else do you expect to not blow by that and have him ready to pitch in the playoffs?
