2025 Around The League Thread

It's possible Olson turned it down. I assume all of the starters had already showered and getting ready to leave (if they hadn't left already. But assuming Olson wasn't approached, they should have put James Woods out there over Stowers.

Olson didn't turn anything down...he wasn't picked...because no one outside of Atl gives a shit about Olson....it's literally that simple. He never even crossed into Roberts' mind...

I seriously doubt he would’ve turned it down considering he was on deck and out there watching the swing off. I mean, maybe. But I have to think it would’ve been pretty special for him to have a chance to win the game in his hometown.

Oh man… I remember it was rumored the Braves were either gonna sign Fick or David Ortiz… Ortiz had only had minimal success with the Twins at the time… don’t think we picked right on that one.
Braves put out a $1 MM offer to Ortiz, Fick, and Travis Lee. Fick took it before the ink was dry. Ortiz ended up signing for $1.25 MM a couple of weeks later and Lee for $500,000 a couple weeks after that. Lee actually rebounded in 2003 and had a higher bWAR than Ortiz that year, signed a $2 MM deal with the Yankees and proceeded to fall off the face of the Earth.
