My thought was steroids could help you some with velocity. I was trying to find his numbers vs the fastball in 2023 vs other years, but couldn't find it. Seems like velocity is the one thing acuna struggles with some

If I were to have to put a blind bet, I would go with Acuna and probably the whole team had an attack in zone pitches early in the count approach and thus were putting balls in play at a higher clip in 2023. I think the league might have adjusted in 2024 and didn't throw get me over strikes to the Braves hitters... but this is purely non stats back conjecture on my part.

There is a little bit of evidence backing this up from an article a month or 2 ago talking about how the Braves aren't being as aggressive early in the count this year.
