I wouldn't bring back Ozuna under any scenario. A DH only really limits us going forward with Acuna so no thanks. Just keep Murphy and use the 2 C system we have going. I don't see how they don't have a lot of money to spend in the offseason. I think that's why they pushed deals like Bummers back loaded to next year bc they knew they were gonna have plenty to spend. If AA runs this same team back with just a SS upgrade next year then I agree with State and Matt to just can AA.I mean, there are scenarios where the Braves don’t have much money to spend and running Ozuna back as the primary DH makes sense at a certain price point. Especially if Murphy is traded for a SS.
Iggy is still a decent arm that fits at the right price.
I want acuna as the primary DH (60% of the time), so I certainly wanna move on from Ozuna. With that said, he is an unbelievable bat when healthy, so I can why they would bring him back on a good deal. And I just don't see them sitting acuna 2-3 times a week as DH.I wouldn't bring back Ozuna under any scenario. A DH only really limits us going forward with Acuna so no thanks. Get this kid on a Profar cycle or two.Nick Allen flirting with one, but alas
Came here to post the same.I get major McCann vibes from Drake.
If they don't let him DH a few times a week then you were right and AA is an idiot.I want acuna as the primary DH (60% of the time), so I certainly wanna move on from Ozuna. Dude is not a starter unless he magically finds consistency in the zone. His slider is deadly and his FB explosive. Build up his arm...sure. Starter...eh.Jhancarlos Lara is the one to watch, for me. I'm 300% sure he will be an elite reliever, and could likely be one in the majors soon. But it sounds like there's a shot they look at him to start. If it translates, he's going to be unbelievable.
Here’s a link to the movement numbers on the 28 splitters Waldrep threw yesterday. I’ll leave it to the reader to decide how many of them were “deadly”.
I'm not going to get into any stat vs eye vs reality vs results argument, but I've noted his changes months ago. I've said his splitter is good when he had command of his other pitches and is ahead in the count. At the end of the day, he got major league hitters to look foolish on the pitch.
Or you could listen to people that actually understand baseball.
