that being said, he has started 4 games since his call up and has given up 1 run or less in each... that is pretty damn good regardless of the opponent.

I’m not going to tell you how to root for your baseball team. But, I care much more about winning and enjoying watching my team play than something that, while potentially could help extend this window, in all likelihood won’t make a difference. But if you don’t care about winning because the playoffs aren’t at stake, that’s perfectly fine.

We are questioning the hitting credentials of the team that scored 23 runs on us in the previous 2 games? I went back and looked at the most recent start. 3 strikouts swinging in the zone and 3 out of the zone and 1 looking in the zone. Thats what I wanted to see. I suspect that chase% is going to go up. The hitters know its coming when he gets 2 strikes and are still struggling to make contact.
 

Look at this game. 6k swinging on splitters in the zone. 1k looking. Even struck out Jose Ramirez. Anybody can look good when hitters are chasing pitches out of the zone. Elite pitchers get hitters to swing and miss at strikes.

Ramirez K's less than 10% of the time and he looked bad on that swing
 
I will add to the lore of Waldrep as well.. what has been equally impressive is he hasn't been pitching with the benefit of being in a blow out. These games have all been close, so any mistake could have cost him the win.

I care about what makes the team better. Winning meaningless games accomplishes nothing aside from getting a worse draft position.

I want to see the players that will be on this team next year do well. I hope Harris maintains a 1.000 OPS for the remainder of the season. I want to see Drake win ROY. I want to see Ozzie rebound and Waldrep continue to get better.

But I don't really care if Ozuna gets another hit in a Braves uni. I don't care if Iggy gets another save. I don't care if Dane Dunning continues to get treated like a pinata.

I actually was expecting a down year from Strider this year considering I viewed this as a rehab year for him. Also to be fair he's outperformed Feede and Elder. That all being said I never would have expected Wentz and Waldrep to be outperforming him
 
looks like the Braves claimed Quantrill.. wondering what they are planning to do with him (pen or start for Strider/Elder)

I would imagine Sale will be back soon too, so this is a bit confusing to me.

Well, if all of those things happen the Braves probably aren’t losing enough games. And Ozuna and Iglesias being on the team or not has nothing to do with rooting for the team to win.

And winning accomplishes giving me a reason to tune in every night. That’s pretty important, I’d say.

Again, you can root for a scenario that potentially makes our team better in the future. That’s viable. But, don’t tell me how to root for my team.

I'm confused and disappointed too. I was hoping for a September rotation of

Sale
Strider
Wentz
Waldrep
Ritchie

I guess Quantrill could be a 6th starter we do only have 3 off days the rest of the year and he'd be an upgrade over Elder and Fedde

I forgot about Fedde.. I think the team wants to go 6 man rotation the rest of the way.. so I could see him replacing Fedde and Sale replacing Elder
 
Looks like Strider might be going to the IL? He is not starting this weekend versus the Mutts and it will be Quantrill.. maybe he is being skipped, but then why not IL him if that is the case.. or to the pen, but I don't see the dummies running the team doing that either.. So I am guessing IL stint for Strider in coming.

Either let strider pitch out the pen or shut him down. Getting his brains beat in every start isn't helping him
