GDT 8/22/25: Braves vs Mets - Getting That Elite Extension

Profar on track to backup last years career year with a very similar season. Would even be on pace for 30 HR if he got 600+ at bats. He hasnt had 2 good seasons in a row in a long time. We saw Marcell break out in his mid 30s. Did we get a bargain in Profar?
 
Nacho was hitting .291/.381/.400 in August before going 2-4 today. His defense is grading out very well. I see him as a .280/.350/.400 hitter with elite defense. Thats a 4 WAR player. Riley can still get full time at bats in the OF corners and DH.

I have trouble seeing nacho be a .750 ops hitter, but if he really is... unload Riley on someone

The power is the part I question the most. I am confident he can put up a good batting average and OBP. With his defense he can still be a 3 WAR player even with very low power numbers. As for Riley we will regret it if we trade him. For all the hate he gets he has been over 100 RC every year. I get that he has dissapointed but its not like he has seasons like Albies this year.

Maybe we'd regret it, but I think he's starting his breaking down process. He's a really good player still, but we won't enjoy the end of the contract
 
Any reason someone can come up with why you go Fedde over Dodd if you were still going to burn Dodd. I mean Dodd can give you 3 innings then lol play the pen from there depending on score and leverage.

Not that I care that much but just an observation when I looked at the box score.
 
It was a good idea to see if Fedde had anything for us but I’m ready to be done with that experiment. I suspect Quantril will be the same but at least he’s someone new. It’s only the Braves that can’t hit pitchers like that

He is 28. How could he be breaking down already. Plenty of players had a year or two stretch where they dont live up to expectations. Ketel Marte had a 102 RC when he was 28 folloiwed by 3 great years. Honestly Riley came back from the hamate injury better than I expected.
