Longtime Braves Scout Roy Clark Has Passed Away

Great career! He’s basically solely responsible for those playoff teams in the early 2010s. It’s a miracle we had multiple playoffs considering how poorly the rest of the franchise was managed at the time, under Frank Wren, Fredi, and the ownership.

He and Paul Snyder were an excellent player development team. They really put a great blueprint in place that fueled the 1990s-early aughts teams. It didn't hurt than Schuerholz had access to Ted Turner's wallet, but when you think of all the homegrown talent that was on those teams it's a pretty strong statement about how good that scouting department was,

I imagine a lot of that blueprint is still at the core of this organization today.

Apparently, the cause of death was due to heart issues. Which is unfortunately, is a subject, that is literally close to mine, as I have some pretty shitty genetics that way on my mom's side of the family.

Like Cy said, I feel like Roy's blueprint is still there and hopefully always will be.

For sure. His eye for talent and genuine love for what he did was unmatched. The heart issues definitely hits home for me too @Mrs. Meta . RIP Roy. Thanks for your contributions to the game of baseball.
