GDT 8/28/25: Braves @ Phillies - Quantrill's last start?

This is what $20m a season gets you! 4 HR games and 50 HR season....Schwarbs will be a FA this offseason and I bet they don't even think of calling him for an inquiry.
If you believe the rumors he was a guy that AA is supposedly going to target in the offseason.

That being said, dude is about to get paid and the Braves really need to fill the DH spot with an outfielder so they can cycle Acuna, Profar and Baldwin regularly.

yeah, it is time to give the future some big league innings.. This garbage needs to be put back into the dumpsters
There are 40-man issues with guys who still don't have to go on the 40-man until after 2026 and I don't know the front office's plans vis-a-vis how much space they want to leave open for free agent acquisitions. It's not like they don't have a half-dozen guys they can just give their walking papers to create space, but they have a bunch of guys coming off the 60-day DL that have to go back on the 40-man after the season ends. Of the guys that will have to go on the 40-man this winter or be exposed to the Rule 5, Burkhalter and Lara (I think. Not sure on when the 4/5-year clock starts for international signings.) spring to mind. Those two should probably be up in September. I think the rotation is what it is unless Sale comes back. He's a competitor, but I wonder if they should just give him the rest of the year off given the dwindling chances for a post-season berth.
