2025 Around The League Thread

Not surprised that the Braves didn't put in a waiver claim on Kiner-Falefa (he ended up in Toronto), but he's someone I think they should look at in the off-season. Strong defense and versatile in the field. Not much of a hitter, but a better hitter than Nick Allen.

We need a utility player that can play a bunch of positions adequately. Even if they can barely hit it allows us to carry other players who may be position limited. Specifically someone who can handle SS/2B and CF so we dont need our backup outfielders to be able to play CF. A personal favorite of mine is David Hamilton of the Red Sox. Can play 2B/SS/3B/CF and is a good bunter/base runner/stealer. Kiner-Falefa I see has played C before so he could possible be an emergency catcher allowing the manger to use both catchers without fear of one getting hurt mid game.

Ozzie is showing real signs of life this 2nd half. Since the break he has a slash line of .273/.339/.436 (.775 OPS). .334 wOBA and 113 wRC+. These all fall right in line with his career numbers,

More importantly, he is back to mashing LHP. In his 43 PAs against LHP this 2nd half, he has a slash line of .390/.419/.561 (.980 OPS), with a .416 wOBA and 169 wRC+. To me, this the most encouraging sign. The numbers vs RHP having been climbing back towards career numbers for a few months now. But his strong side production is what has really tanked his production this year.

Encouraging. Hopefully it was all wrist related

Wrists and back tend to linger for a while and make it super uncomfortable to swing so hopefully that wrist is healed up. Riley's should be bc he hasn't had to use it.

Man, between Ozzie's resurgence and the addition of Kim, AA should have a shit-ton of money to work with in the offseason to address the rotation and bullpen. Give me Framber, dammit.
