You all are probably right. The Braves coaching and medical staffs had no idea, but any other organization on the planet would have caught it immediately.

Exactly. If it was obvious enough that a trade physical would have caught it then the Braves should have caught it. This is not the Dodgers-East type of management I was promised.

I’ve tried to be open minded on the Contreras swap. One wasn’t proven while the other one was and the team was in its window. But my gosh things like this make it difficult.

Would a prospective team really do an MRI on his hip? We apparently haven't done one in at least 2 years. And since it's been bothering him for 3 years, either we didn't do an MRI or we missed it altogether when we traded for him. Or it's possible we saw it and we didn't care. I'm not sure which is worse, tbh.

Teams don’t generally do physicals on existing players.
