TLHLIM

The left has been doing this since covid, promoting the tattle on your neighbor culture from Blue run areas. I don't think it’s correct then, but I'm not crying about it now as this has shown GENUINELY evil people to light.
Is it not evil to kill Grandma with COVID?! You seem to have a very conveniently narrow definition of what justifies cancellation that just so happens to absolve your side of the same behavior you’ve consistently complained about previously.

It would be nice to have groups "police" their own.

But the left has shown time and time again there is no bridge too far in shaming their own side for wild behavior that makes them look bad.

I think thats the major difference in the two actually. Most liberals have enough and just switch sides to the side of normalcy, only leaving the wackos on the left that won't tell their own that they are making everyone look bad.

No grandma wasn't getting covid in a park or using a Michigan lake, or trying to plant flower seeds (all deemed illegal by dems).

Grandma wasn't getting covid because someone was out after curfew.

You can't be serious.

Being genuinely evil is a valid reason to be cancelled now. Thanks leftys!

I wouldn’t even take it that far. What happened during cancel culture was an an army of losers who combed through 15 years of social media posts and tried to ruin peoples lives. I think it’s justifiable if someone loses their jobs because they celebrated a murder. I also don’t want teachers who are publicly funded to share those values with children especially.

But the Loomers and Libs of Tik Tok who are creating a database of random people with random jobs who said gross things, yikes.

Can a healthcare worker do their job to their fullest and give their 100% effort if they believe the patient they are working on is someone they have actively and publicly rooted against and wished death upon?

But the CDC told me so. Therefore I’m morally obligated to deal with it by cancelling others perpetrating this evil.

So not gross before, but now gross? for celebrating a murder?

If we’re going to use this standard, we will quickly run out of healthcare workers. Criminals, pedophiles, etc. are patients sometimes. It’s why they have oaths and shit.

That’s literally the opposite of what I wrote so try re reading it again
Hat tip, i missed it. My b.

I just don't get the yikes if they keep score. You get what you get. No one forces these morons to post anything.

One thing about the Social Media movement I don't get- No one forces you to type anything. It is a choice. Also- why do you assume people care what your thoughts on a topic are anyway?

no worries. You and I probably aren’t that much in disagreement here so let me explain.

In this particular case, I think it’s justified and reasonable for an employer to fire an employee for going to the town square and shouting “yay murder!”. When you are hired, you enter into an at will arrangement with that employer that can be terminated for any reason. The same can be said for the worker. If the company does something that they disagree with they can quit. I would probably fire most employees that said “yay murder” and replace them with similarly capable people that say “no murder”.

The reason I say yikes to mob justice is you don’t put that toothpaste back in the tube. Tim Dillon did a comedy special last year dressed as the healthcare ceo who was murdered. It was in poor taste and the widow and children probably didn’t appreciate it. I am also glad he didn’t get canceled over clear satire. People should be allowed to regulate their own consumption of opinions, feeds, etc. I don’t want to support a nanny state that gives carte blanch to social media influencers to dox private citizens and start campaigns to get them removed from their jobs. The slippery slope from Loomer doing this to Taylor Lorenz doing something similar is steeper than you think. Culture changes quick.

Cancel culture sucks. I don’t think employers should have any right to punish employees for actions taken off the clock. My hope and suspicion is that, now that people on the left side of the spectrum are also being punished, corporate HR departments will come to the same conclusion.

This has been a thing since forever though. If you act a fool and do things that can damage a companys reputation they have and will fire you. It's just with the internet you can see that some dude across the country is getting fired instead of it being limited to people you only know in your town.
