Exactly. He wasn't playing there, so he was for sure opting in. The better move woulda been trade for him after the opt in. They woulda gave him away
 
If Story doesn't opt out he'll have 2 years at 25 per with a club option after that. He's had a pretty good year and would be a short term commitment till our guys are ready. We could probably get Boston to eat some of the money.

A 100 wrc+ is what he was pre-injury. Him finishing with the braves at that number probably is smart for him to opt out

You are irrationally negative. The cost of bringing in Kim for the rest of the year is basically meaningless with even a possibility of having him in the future.

He may not accept, but you can bet that AA is/has offered him an extension with a reasonable contract for a couple of extra years.

It’s certainly a small gamble, but the downside is still needing a SS next year, and the upside is solving that problem quickly at a reasonable price.

Not a huge gamble.

He was no threat to opt out till he got to play everyday. TB woulda begged us to take him after he opted in
 
Olson having a good season.
Ozzie starting to hit again.
Acuna making it through the season healthy.
Profar hitting after suspension.
Baldwin being a real hitter.

These are the 5 things that give me some hope for next season.

I'm very concerned about shortstop and cf though position wise. The braves need Kim to opt in. His avg bat would be huge.
