The only thing that make something a legitimate civil war instead of an insurrection is the success of that venture and the amount of state power involved. If you try to instigate one, you’ll just be killed or arrested for treason.

Likewise, even if a cop enters your home in the dead of night to arrest you for a crime you did not commit, you can still be sent to prison for life for defending yourself with a gun.

So if you can’t legally defend yourself from the military or police with a firearm, how are we actually upholding the intent of the 2nd Amendment?

Yes a civil war would be illegal but I dont think anyone would care if its get to that point. A lot of people on both sides would be killed

And im aware that shooting a cop for a crime would get me in more trouble but its also a deterrent for said cop that they may get killed. Once they are killed I dont think they care what happens to the person legislatively
