I mean it would take a rural driver less time to make that commute than most large cities for something half that far

Lol, no. I literally live within walking distance of a Target. I could drive to many restaurants, shops, and bars in less than 5 minutes.
 
I admit I'm ignorant of what good internet looks like these days, but here's mine with Starlink now...



This is like 10x faster download than my previous fixed wireless. My country bumpkin butt is happy
