New Manager Discussion

This stinks of Terry McGuirk.

As a Vols fan, I'm not against staging a Schiano level coupe. This is malpractice.
Yeah, AA had to get over-ruled by McGuirk. There's no way AA being someone driven into analytics would want Weiss given the options available.

I'm guessing Snit had a huge hand in this. Snit and McGuirk are the last 2 guys left from the old guard so when they go maybe we can move on.

I haven't seen Twitter this upset over a hire since Tennessee tried to hire Greg Schiano.

Texas A&M was set to hire Kentucky's Mark Stoops until a Twitter tirade changed that up. They were much better off hiring Mike Elko.

It’s actually pretty remarkable that the Braves have managed to make a wholly less inspiring hire than the Falcons, who are among the biggest jokes in major professional sports. This is right on par in being comically bad like the Falcons having a shot at the likes of Mike Vrabel, Ben Johnson, etc. and saying nah we’ll take Raheem Morris.

I don't really see what control or influence Snitker would have had on the decision.

It's hard for me to believe McGuirk cares that much.

This seems like maybe a Clubhouse/ alumni thing perhaps?

I'm genuinely surprised and disappointed.

But at the end of the day I don't think the manager is super important as I've said.

Where does everyone get this old guard vs new guard gimmick ?

Do people thInk older guys don’t like winning ?
I'm sure old guard guys love to win. They just don't know how to win in the year 2026.

If Weiss knew anything about anything he would have helped Snit make better decisions. He didn't, as evidenced by Snit's consistently suboptimal decisions.

Look at how certain teams bring in their relievers and swap out position players. They definitely impact every game.

Snit is in an advisory role and he no doubt had a hand in this and McGuirk is super hands on with everything so he definitely cares.

Modern rosters competently deployed by modern managers most certainly make a difference. Claiming otherwise is just burying your head in the sand.
