They’ll either make a big trade for someone like Seager, deal for a young shortstop from a team with depth at the position, or let Allen start again. The only scenario where Allen makes sense, though, is if they add a big bat to offset his spot at the bottom of the order. But, I still hate that last option.

I wonder if TX would even be willing anything at all in a Seagar deal?
He's still producing like a top 5 SS in baseball. And if he were a FA right now, there is little doubt he would get something that at least matched the 6/189 he currently has remaining.
As exciting as Seagar would be, it seems like Kim is a much better value in relation to projected production and has much less risk. I think I'd rather "overpay" and give Kim 4/80 than to take on Seagar's 6/180.

Re-signing Kim feels unlikely. If past is prologue, Boras will hold out for someone to get desperate. He often overplays his hand in this game, but can the Braves really afford to wait this out? There's a chance this process could linger into February.
I don't think any team values Bichette as a SS. Miguel Rojas is probably the second best FA, but has durability concerns. Taylor Walls is the most likely non-tender candidate, but doesn't feel that different than Nick Allen.
It's so hard to guess who may be realistically available in a trade, but that's the route I think we'll need to take here. AA has had since July to figure this out, so we better have plans A - Z ready in order to make sure we aren't caught with our pants down.

Yeah Boras will wait till Bichette signs so he fells like he holds more cards. I don't think we can hold out that long and be left with Allen again. The Angels are always up in the air so maybe Neto could be a target. It take Waldrep or Richie probably to get him but he's only 24 with a lot of control

Always take him with a grain of salt, but Boob Nightengale says the Braves are expected to be very aggressive this offseason.

That's what I think after being publicly outed by their own beat writers for the lack of moves the past year and a half. They've built something really special with the battery so they have no reason they shouldn't be spending.

Amongst the non-QO guys, Chris Bassit seems like a decent depth-play on a very short (one- or creative two-year) deal; he’s projected for 2.1 fwar after posting 2.4 in 2025.
I’d also love to see the Braves finally make a splash with a posted Japanese player: Tatsuya Imai has some intriguing qualities, is only 27, and won’t require draft-pick-forfeiture.

I didn't realize Robert Suarez wasn't extended the QO. I think he/Iggy, Bassitt and Kim are probably the biggest targets for Atlanta right now. All are really great fits, too.
Devin Williams is my favorite RP target. No QO attached and he was considered a top 3 closer in the majors a year ago. I don't think he gets remotely close to some of the numbers that have been thrown around for him. If the Yanks thought he would get as 4 year deal deal valued at 15+ million, they would have given him a QO, and if he accepted, they would have just traded him as a salary dump.

And he may wanna do a 1 year with an option to build some value for a bigger deal next year. That's my favorite RP target also.

He's a beast for sure but like you said he gives those Tommy Pham vibes. They'd probably want Albies back along with Richie, Waldrep, and Nacho. We don't match up well bc it's both really a need

Given the amount of quality relievers in FA, I would be at least a little surprised if he got 4 years or more more than 50 million in total guarantees.
Apparently a lot of the big markets teams aren't expected to be big spenders this off-season with the CBA looming. I think there will be a lot of bargains to go around.
