Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

the big lies to me were birtherism (a racist lie) and the attempt to smear dark-skinned immigrants with the pet-eating allegation (another racist lie)...in the grand scheme of thangs misplacing a decimal point is a little white lie
He got the name of the town and country of origin wrong on the pet eating allegation. It wasn’t a lie, and there is no reason to believe it was racist besides your own biases.

There’s about a 90% chance that some idiot on the left picks right now to be very concerned about the Executive Branch illicitly appropriating funds and I’m begging and pleading for them to instead shut the fuck up and let the people who just went a month without pay keep their bonus checks without making it a whole to-do.

Although fuck every one of these idiots suggesting that not working for free is unpatriotic. Daycare, grocery stores and landlords don’t operate on IOUs.

Thinking about Trump's order to kill the penny. Wihch I'm not really opposed to. There's the issue of administration. Especially since 99% of the use of pennies comes from taxes.

But why would Drumph stop at the penny? Pennies cost a lot more 3.7 times more. But every nickel actually loses more money. COsting 13.78 cents to make. Why not abolish that too?

Honestly I have this resolved on how any business should do this. Round down to nearest dime for cash transactions. For digital transactions and check who cares. But for cash where the penny matters give it back. And you avoid the processing fees of things like credit cards so it's a win/win for the business who actually saves money on credit card processing fees which can range between 1.5 and 3.5%.

Yeah it’s a legitimate complaint and one that would be politically unproductive.

the longer this goes on --- the more quaint are HRC's emails

..

We all knew something was off October 2016.
Had to know

How did this ever get past mocking a disabled reporter phase.

Maybe one day ...

The Borowitz Report

Republicans also stood by Nixon until the bitter end, then deserted him en masse. I post this for those who need something to look forward to

Only to you and your bubble my friend

Everyone else seems to be well aware of what’s happening

I’d try a bit harder to reset that algorithm

Boy I'd love to hear what Tapate thinks is happening in his own words. This should be fun.
Why’d the Dems block the vote yesterday zito?

Why did the usual dem patsys run with an email from a victim (then redact her name) that already said publicly before Trump was never witnessed to do anything sinister?

If the dems blocked it (we don't know we only know what someone who opposes the bill says) it's likely because they're all trying to find out where votes lie. Or maybe it has to do with a number of things.

Jasmine Crockett is an idiot, no one really cares about her. Want me to assume everything people like Lauren Boebert says represents the whole party?

House is set to vote on Massie's motion next week. It's political grandstanding to push outa different bill now that has less support.

Dems release these emails the day before they cave on the shutdown. Then almost immediately they vote to block it when given the chance to release everything.

But we're not supposed to be skeptical of that......

They had the talking points ready and hit the media circuit until it backfired in their faces, but yeah no one knows what happened. L O L

Did you not read anything? THere's a vote going to the floor to vote next week, the Rs who don't want the files out are instead trying to push a vote on a different one that basically hasn't been worked on in months because it's sponsor threw her weight behind Massie's bill

So you have a bill that's popular and has support going to the floor, and the Rs want to put it out and no one knows who blocked it but it allows them to scapegoat the dems. It's literal grandstanding.

You still can't tell me in your own words "what happened" or whatever shenanigans you think. Yeah of course the dems released files because they were caving and they wanted to distract from that.

Except people are already saying who blocked it. And the top Dem reps are not giving a comment. Hmm... wonder why?

The exhausting thing about the Epstein Files saga is that at the end of the day, there’s probably nothing to be done with them except maybe publicly embarrass some people and at this point both sides of the aisle have fucked around with both overhyping and downplaying them to suit their narrative at the time. I both think they should be released and that they aren’t nearly as exciting as people want them to be. It’s just very funny to me that the Trump Administration has managed to fuck this up so hard, and I find it a bit curious how they’ve specifically gone about their 180 on it.
