One of the things I really hate about politics today is how we use 9/11 and the links between major Middle Eastern states and terrorism for political convenience. While Trump’s defense of MBS and the Saudi government’s murder of a journalist is uniquely disgusting, this general embrace of Saudi Arabia or willingness to meet with Al-Qaeda has been the default position of the United States for years now. Fox News and other right-wing media outlets did the same screeching during Biden’s term. Geopolitics is a nuanced and difficult thing, and we cannot be openly hostile toward the leaders of other nations that we might need to work with.

Yeah, if you can’t even be safely held in an institution, it’s absolutely time for prison.
The most exposure I have to trans people in my day-to-day is far and away from right-wingers complaining about them.

The President is threatening Democrat Congressmen with execution for treason.......Surely someone will clutch their pearls like when I said Charlie Kirk deserved it. No? Just fine with that from the President. Gonna be running for a third term too. I honestly dont know what the breaking point would be. If he was 20 years younger maybe the 5th term they would finally grow some integrity.
They’re undoubtedly the second most exposure I have to this.

Theres a whole lot more to this. Prison is a mental illness factory. Its unavoidable but it should be for people who hurt others or their property. Think of all the wasted resources that could be used to catch pedos and rapists. Guys like this probably was never a good dude but we added significant mental illness then put him back on the streets. He was a ticking time bomb. How many pot smokers arrested equals preventing a murder? Catching a rapist 1 day earlier? Why isnt every police department running Too Catch A Predator stings? Prioritization away from the impactful crimes means more of those crimes happen.
