2025-2026 offseason thread

He wanted to reset the tax and I get it and he couldn't come out and say it. I'm just glad McGuirk is actually doing what he said a month ago and becoming a top 5 spending club.
I think they'd have stayed over if the right deals had fallen to them, but they weren't going over for deals they didn't feel good about.

The Dodgers also greatly distorted the market last year.

I’d still like to get a better platoon partner for Yaz than Dubon. Just let Dubon be a true super sub.
Dubon had a 111 WRC+ agaisnt LHP last year. That's more than acceptable considering both are good defenders.

That being said. That's likely only going to be the case until Murphy comes back. That's the better platoon partner you are looking for.

I like it. Still feel like we're missing a piece offensively, though. We're going to need Riley to play to his capability and Harris to be more consistent.

We are. They should assume we will have atleast 1 position player injured at a time. Miguel Andujar makes too much sense. Can play 3B/LF/RF. Murders LHP. But by June we will be playing waiver wire fodder because they assumed an injury prone core of players will stay healthy.

I am not the clown here. You guys just expect everything the Braves do to work out just the way you expect it to, and somehow you are disappointed when it fails 32 out of 34 years. You guys seriously can't see the forest for the trees. Fooling yourselves yet again into believing this is a championship contender.

The Braves’ roster is now extremely deep and flexible, and built to withstand injuries. That’s a significant development for Atlanta. Offensively, defensively, and on the pitching side, there are players who can contribute in multiple ways.

In 2024 and 2025, the team went weeks without consistency because key players couldn’t stay on the field, forcing reliance on replacement-level depth that struggled to hold its own. Those losses add up over a long season. That scenario feels far less likely now. Add another reliable relief arm and a starter, and let's roll.

The team has definitely improved. I’ll feel better once another starting option is added, whether that’s in the rotation or the bullpen.
I feel pretty confident at least one of those things happen. Especially since they have around $20M left to spend (if they save around $10M for the Trade Deadline) until they hit the third threshold and have yet to use any prospects.
