The story will rightfully be the amount of money stolen and government complicity/ineptitude but a big focus has to be the sheer size of the fraud and how many people were AWARE of the fraud while active/passive engagement in the act.

Its damning and tells a story that makes a conclusion of remigration/halting ALL future immigration very reasonable.

to the extent there is an answer from data and research crime rates by immigrants are substantially lower than crime rates by native-born Americans

what about it...it is a black mark against Walz...i'm not a big Walz fan but am more than happy i voted for Harris/Walz over Trump/Vance...would do so with equal enthusiasm now as I did then

Try to avoid "i support anybody breaking our laws should be punished to extent of our laws"

As someone who supports a social safety I strongly support efforts to make it as efficient and free of fraud as possible. Those who perpetrated the fraud should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. And the programs should be carefully analyzed and reformed as necessary to reduce the risk of fraud. As I noted I would vote as enthusiastically for Harris/Walz today as I did November 2024. Sorry if my answer uses words or phrases that you find objectionable.

So if nobody in the democratic party of Minnesota faces penalty for their effort in this fraud, what will your response be?

He of course went with the standard of "anyone who committed crime should be held accountable "

At various points in my life I've been a Republican, an independent and a Democrat. No party has my allegiance in perpetuity. It seems unlikely, however, that I will be returning to the Republican Party anytime soon. Integrity does matter to me. A great deal. That's why I'm a Democrat these days. The main reason as a matter of fact.

What continues to frustrate me is the idea that I am to blame for the current situation for tepidly voting for one of the two extremes in the face of an opposition that blindly supports the other extreme.
 
If they were comparable in any way in terms of size / number of people complicit / end usage of funds then youd have a point.
