While I find the claim of fraud here a bit opportunistic, I can’t say I agree with the idea of paid medical leave by the government. I’d possibly some programs to help with some supplemental food or shelter assistance benefits for those eligible, but in general I find this to be the absolute worst kind of social program when you just start handing out money just because.

Yes and no. When it comes to some of these programs, they aren’t make or break for me. Both sides of the aisle have spent plenty of our money on things I disagree with. The line in the sand for me probably isn’t ever going to be my skepticism of the efficacy of a social program meant to help those in need. Until I get the chance to vote on issues by line item somehow, I’ll ultimately vote for this wasteful spending over wasteful DHS/Defense spending.
