I don't care Michael Sam is gay....
...To have to constantly say you don't care he's gay, is just an indirect projection of homophobia IMO.
SAV is a homophobe everybody!!

To have to constantly say you don't care he's gay, is just an indirect projection of homophobia IMO. It's the same thing with don't ask don't tell. I don't care if you're gay, just don't say anything about it and you can serve in the military and fight and die for your country! DADT put a cloud of shame on service members who feared they would lose their job if they openly admitted to their sexual orientation or if it was found out they were a certain way. The same people we ask to fight alongside our straight guys in the name of freedom... can't even let them be proud to fight for our country and who they are as a person.
There lies the problem. Liberal minded people are screaming "THIS IS THE MEGA STORY IN THE WHOLE WORLD, AN OPENLY GAY PERSON HAS BEEN DRAFTED". You need to see this. Throwing it down everyone's throat like it is a story which is not in many peoples opinions on BOTH sides. Thankfully I do not watch TV or this garbage because that is what it really is reality TV and garbage.
Honestly DWGAF instead of DIRGAF? We get it, no need to make it #1 story for 7 straight days. Now he is TRYING to get a reality show, what is next a PT Barnum's Circus?

I hate that I love you.
/subliminal theme for this thread.
Now that's a euphemism I hadn't heard before.

I don't care that you're a retard. I'm not afraid of retards. This isn't an indirect projection of retardophobia. I just truly, honestly, don't care that you are retarded. In fact I'm happy that you finally came out of the retard closet. This is a historical moment for this forum. I've always assumed there were retards here, but no one has had the guts to come out and go full retard until you just did right there. Now turn and give your closet retarded friend yeezus a big ol' smooch on the kisser and you two can ride bareback off into the sunset thinking that everyone out there who don't care about gay people are actually in fact, homophobes themselves.

The Tebow comparisons are stupid. No football players cared that Tebow was a devout and open Christian, they only cared that he didn't have great skills to play QB. Nobody questioned his desire or motives for football, they only questioned his skills....The only people that didn't want to hear about his faith, were people that don't care much for faith.
That's just not true. No matter what you think of Tebow, there's no need for revisionist history.
That's just not true. No matter what you think of Tebow, there's no need for revisionist history.
No one cared then or cares now about Tebow's personal beliefs, but people watching the game are going to comment on what they see. And what they saw was a young man drawing unnecessary, though calculated, attention to himself and looking like a dimwit, not a serious person practicing his "religion".
I don't know about that. From my perspective, it looks like about half the NFL kneels at midfield following each game, so he would have had a number of kindred souls on for whichever team he toiled. I come from a very buttoned-down Scandinavian Lutheran upbringing that takes Matthew 5:5-6 as its model for prayer. I realize there a number of other verses that would seem to promote different styles of prayer, but I find most any public display of religion at a distinctly secular event a bit garish and perhaps falsely pious. But that's just me. I'm not going to rag on anyone else.
But Tebow couldn't hit the ocean from the shore. That's why he's not in football anymore (unless there was some extreme locker room proselytizing going on of which we are not aware--which I find highly unlikely).
Again, that's just flat wrong. No need to repeat the error. I don't get why you guys want to deny it. Here are the facts:
Tebow stunk at the pro-game.
Tebow was a hard worker.
Tebow didn't hide his beliefs.
Tebow was very public with his beliefs.
Tebow had a huge following.
Many of those Tebow fans annoy the ****e out of folks.
Many didn't care about Tebow's public display of who he was/is.
Some did (despite y'all's denials).
Some football players did.
Certainly many in the media did, including former players (can we say Jake Plummer).
Some made statements as such, that he needed to keep that stuff in the closet.
As far as I know, none of them were called on the carpet or had to undergo sensitivity training or pay fines.
And they shouldn't have had to anyway.
What so hard about admitting all that?
Did any current players? Teammates?
Yeah, the NFL, and pro sport in general, is so hostile to professing christians . . .
Being identified with the largest and most influential religious sect in the country AND insisting on being afforded the status of a persecuted minority must really be a pretzel sometimes.
But you just did. And that's okay to do and I actually am more in your camp on that score anyway (although I do like the mid-field, after-the-game, prayer meeting of players and coaches from both teams - got no problem with that).
But that's beside my point. My point is that it is unnecessary revisionist history to pretend like there weren't critics of Tebow's in-your-face display of who he was/is within the NFL and the media machine.

I consider "ragging" going on and on and on and on and on ad infinitum about a guy and his behavior, which I rarely do about anyone. It would make for either ulcers or a short career in my line of work.
Tebow can do what he wants and there were critics of his "Tebowing," but I think that probably accounts for about 2% of why he's still not drawing a paycheck from an NFL team.
