Agreed that this will make an impact. But I would like to point out that you’ve used this as evidence that overall inflation is cooling despite tariffs, a thing that has the same inflationary effect as this sort of subsidization. Why would the textbooks be right in this case and not the times Trump doesn’t agree?

I haven't used this specifically as tariff induced deflations. Even in the most recent PPI figures GOODS have not moved in price.

But why is it that “simple economics” is once again understood to be correct when it points to a situation where a government action follows exactly what economics says would happen, but obviously not correct when it doesn’t?

Its absurd what you can do with just plain language.

Whatever people thought the layoffs would be due to AI was understating it.

Our FP&A group at corporate has about 15 people. I don't see why we need more than 8-10 going forward with that number shrinking rapidly.

I can’t write code. I used Claude to write 1200 lines of testing code in 20 minutes, then used Claude to red team that code and cut it down to 400 very good lines in another 20 minutes. This was my first time using Claude. That’s without setting up teams of agents (which can also be done with and by Claude) or even knowing what I was doing. No manual, no training, just a terminal and some existing code base.

The world is going to so different than it is today - Its impossible to even imagine it at this point.
