If there were ever a clearer indication of how the right has lost its mind, it’s the response to your post. The shift we’ve seen in the past year or so from the people on this forum who are defending Fine here (as well as all other corners of the internet) is truly disturbing to me. I used to believe we had enough shared humanity to avoid going to too dark of a place as a country, but we’ve reached a point where I’m honestly no longer confident in that.

Exactly. Nobody is losing their fucking dog and Fine is simply fear-mongering over a non-existent problem of Muslims forcing that to happen. And yet here we are, doing a bunch of casual, gleeful bigotry against Muslims in response.
I’m going to go ahead and hold members of Congress to a higher standard than some lady at a protest. I have also frequently condemned the behavior of those mocking Kirk’s assassination. But your tone on immigrants and Muslims has gotten really fucking dark.
