Sure, but not always. Looking over the games from 2025, Sale didn't make his first road ST appearance until ST was almost over last year. Meanwhile Schwelly, Ian Anderson, AJSS, and Elder took the bulk of the road games, along with a few non roster invitees sprinkled in.


I'd be willing to bet that vets likely get the option to stay or go. Especially when it's a B squad game.

I am not sure what the benefit of "hiding" anything would be.

If he faces hitters outside the org than his velocity will be known and obviously he will be on guns soon enough.

I guess if they're trying to negotiate some kind of deal then it's marginally better to posture that Strider is healthy but it's not likely to get them terribly far and it certainly has to be short term.

I'm not sure what exactly they would be hiding. If he's healthy, he's going to be pitching regardless.

Are you insinuating they are hiding Strider because AA doesn't have thick enough skin to face the media and fan backlash if Strider is only throwing 94-95?

Idk. They're hiding him though for sure. If it was simple as he didn't wanna make the trip, they'd let em face live guys tomorrow
 
Am I the only that finds it odd that the gun was cut off for strider when it was on for everyone proceeding him? And then they scratch his start for him to throw away from everyone? I hope this is just a big troll job by AA to only unleash a fully healthy SS, but it is really weird

To be fair, it wasn’t on for anyone else that day either. Still weird though.

It literally doesn't matter because most people think Strider is done being a TOR guy anyway

Guys are on a schedule.

If there is something wrong with Strider, they can't hide it forever. So there really isn't a motivation to "hide" him. Unless it's a negotiating tool for a trade/signing. Even then, it seems flimsy.
 
A week or so ago, I remember seeing SS#1 talking about not worrying about velocity, but pitch shape, stretching, etc. Maybe he's really serious about not wanting to know velocity, and this peekaboo game is by him, not the braves
