I can't speak for zito or mqt but America's founding ideals were shaped by the principles that grew out of the Enlightenment. Particularly those emphasizing reason, the rights of the individual, consent of the governed.

The thinkers who influenced the founding fathers the most and whose influence remain strong include:

1) John Locke: natural rights, the social contract, the right to revolution if rulers violate the social contract

2) Baron de Montesquieu: separation of powers, checks and balances to prevent tyranny

3) Voltaire: freedom of expression, religious tolerance
 
Micah 4:4 was George Washington's favorite bible verse.

He used it in a well-known letter to the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, Rhode Island. In the letter, Washington wrote "May the children of the stock of Abraham who dwell in this land continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other inhabitants – while every one shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig tree and there shall be none to make him afraid."

If those dopes were elected, I’d be spending my time pointing out their stupidity, but they weren’t elected…Trump was, so I’m more concerned with his idiocy.
Oh i get it.

I've maintained for years that if they took away Trumps Twitter access from him in Term 1 he likely gets re-elected. It isn't a strong suit.

A U.S. Navy sailor was medically evacuated Saturday afternoon from an American nuclear-powered submarine by Danish military forces, according to a U.S. and Danish official.

The submarine broke from its mission and surfaced about eight miles from Nuuk, Greenland, an extraordinary step for a vessel designed to remain hidden beneath the sea in secrecy.

The sailor was airlifted by a Danish Defense Seahawk helicopter, deployed from the Vædderen, a Danish military patrol ship.

It's unclear what the nature of the medical emergency was, but it was not combat-related, according to the U.S. official.

I’m even more confused and feel like I must be missing something. The quote I pulled was from the article linked in the tweet that explained what happened to the sailor in the submarine. Trump’s response was to insist that we are sending a hospital boat, of which we presently have zero operational ones, to Greenland to take care of a health crisis being ignored by Denmark. What am I missing?

He posted this because a US nuclear submarine - whose very presence near Greenland is already deeply provocative given the context - was just rescued by Danish military forces


So yes the headline is retarded as tapate said, as they claim that Danish forces somehow rescued a submarine.

It's a classic fake outrage post.

I had looked past that entirely and read it as it was likely intended: the Danish military helped us out with an ill soldier, Trump responded by trashing Denmark’s commitment to the health of Greenland residents and lying about sending a floating hospital to take care of them. I think the tweet was just poorly worded because I never even noticed the issue when sharing it, and reading the entire tweet with the context of the article embedded in it filled in the gaps enough.
