I cannot think of why Obamacare.com needs nearly half a billion lines of code but Facebook has way more information in way less code. It's because of the BS contract system the US uses. US needs a massive amount of work done to it's way of operation.

I was reading that medicare had some major problems during its rollout. Given how computers were either in their infancy or non existent, I wonder what methods they used to iron it all out.

I could go into detail about this but I won't. The site is a design/coding disaster. People with way more knowledge than myself have talked about obscene amount of unnecessary code. And i'm sure that's without real access.
