They didn’t stand in support of removing lead pipes for clean drinking water, ending cancer or protecting our troops.
They refused to stand for IVF, even though most claim they now support it. They refused to stand up against fentanyl traffickers. Those should all be no-brainers.
Unbelievably, Republicans didn’t even stand in defense of democracy — either here at home, or around the world — and they refused to stand up for NATO, the alliance that has kept the world safe for 75 years.
Let’s be serious here for a second. We’re well past the point of being able to credulously claim one side has the moral high ground on this particular topic.
I’m sure it’d be rather trivial to find clips supporting what she’s saying here. My point is not that Republicans are anti-troops and pro-fentanyl. It’s that this is what the State of the Union is now and it’s why I find it so irrelevant.

He’d be a terrible president but I’ve listened to SAS talk about culture and politics a few times. The guy is very good at having a finger on the pulse of mainstream Americana.
He’d never make it out of the primary. The progressive tankies on the far left of that party have too much influence in the primary that they have to be catered to. Gavin (who is also a very smart politician) is struggling with balancing not pissing them off and trying to be remotely electable in the general election.
