I'll just say..this kid(Tornes)is something else. His exit velos and maturity are a welcome addition to the farm. Gil showing power elevates him significantly from a prospect perspective. He holds that this year, sky is the limit.

Dodd is a RP not a SP but he likely won’t break with the team because we already have 3 lefties and he has an option. If something happens to Lee or Bummer he should be getting the call though

Yesterday or the day before. He looked good, but his fastball velocity was down. I worry about him because his velocity has dipped every year for three years. But as an isolated appearance, he was very good.

The whole rationale was we didn’t need to pay someone 10-15 million plus just to be another Elder. But in Lopez, looks like we’re going to be paying him 10-15 million plus just to be another Elder.

I'll let you think about it awhile to maybe see the difference in those situations.

The silliness about Lopez is laughable at this point. In 2024 he topped out at 99.0 mph. Right now he tops out 4 mph less than that. He was throwing under 90 for crying out loud. This is a huge problem.

Like Elder, Lopez will have to hope for amazing command on a consistently 91-93 fastball to have success. A starting pitcher can’t rely on offspeed forever.
