119th Congress or Red Wave In Adult Land

So mostly more handouts to people who already don’t pay taxes?
It looks like most benefits would flow to middle and upper middle class, I’m just not sure how this squares with the rest of (D)’s policy goals. I don’t see a proposal to cut spending to offset the tax reduction. The “rich” can’t pay for everything we’re spending now, much less Medicare for All or anything else off the wishlist. I guess they could go all in on MMT and just pretend deficits don’t matter?

I must be going dyslexic. I would have sworn that said 10%-60%. Maybe just seeing what I expected to see.

And yeah there’s no way to square that with a budget but it’s not like anyone is doing that these days. Just promise everyone what they want and put it on the credit card.

I would be on board with preventing big investment companies from buying up existing homes. Stopping new builds seems like trying to pretend you’re doing something to address that without hurting Blackrocks feelings.

The special election to replace MTG was today. I voted for Fuller, one of twelve Republicans on the ballot. He’ll face Democrat Shawn Harris, one of three Democrats on the ballot, in a runoff. Fuller got 35%, Harris got 39%. Total vote by party was Republican 60%, Democrat 39%.

Harris had a big campaign fund. I’m curious how much more Dems will throw away on it now that sneaking past 50% in the primary didn’t work.

My SIL posted what a big deal the dem getting into a run off was.

I’m guessing she didn’t realize there were 6 republicans on the ballot lol

Democrats still don’t want to fund DHS with 4 radical Muslim attacks in the last 10 days.

Where is the line ? 10 attacks ? 12? 25?

Someone speak up. Because as far as we can tell there isn’t a limit to how many Dems will allow
