Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

Nothing I could list off the top of my head, but the two major parties essentially create the platforms anyway, so I’m voting more on relative character and trust for President specifically in the current environment. Harris cleared the bar, Newsom does not.
Harris is politically inept.

Newsome is slimy.

I still suspect we wind up in the 2nd worst scenario of Newsome vs. Don Jr.

Was in a waiting room yesterday, 30 minutes or so
Fox on the tv in the room. Story after story on "fraud"

Got called into my appointment and guess the on the way out Fox topic
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

thought to myself, despite their protestations, this is majority of this forums news source.
Waiting room journalism.
Or what academics call " propaganda"

Yeah, fraud is a crime . Got it
Corruption is bad

But trumped by unprovoked war and child sex exploitation.
To what degree do my fellow Brave fans see this fraud band wagon outrage of the day
as just another day the Epstein files or the abject failure of this administration not being discussed ?

$4.01 in Atlanta area
Believe it or not there are other reporting sources than fox news.

Do you believe the fraud to be a fake story? Or just an unimportant one

I think it's rather obvious Vance will be at the top of the ticket for Republicans. Though I wish it were DeSantis. Still, Vance has proven to be very good on the debate stage and cool under pressure in interviews. He's clearly very intelligent and it shows. Rubio and Youngkin are also solid candidates. Rubio is making a name for himself nationally as SOS and should also do well with minorities. Youngkin would make VA a toss up. You can't count out Nikki Haley either, as she did pretty well in the R primaries this past election.

It will be a long time before a California Dem wins the Presidency. Their far left liberal policies will not fly in the rust belt. The Dems best chances are to run someone like Particularly one with as troublesome of a background as Newsome. The Dems best chance for the White House in 2028 is one of Beshear, Kelly, Ossoff, or Shapiro.

If the Dems don't win in 2028, they are going to find it a lot harder to win elections going forward, unless they can consistently turn GA and NC blue, or they can manage to flip FL back after Trump is out of office. TX and FL are both gaining 4 ECs each in 2030. AZ, UT, and ID also gain 1 each. Meanwhile CA loses 4, NY loses 2, and IL, RI, and MN lose 1. That's a 20 point swing that would favor Republicans based on voting patterns since 2000.

I mean that's where the winds blow now. If Trump turns on Vance which he very well could, then whomever he backs will get his hoard of cultists and a percentage of the remaining GOP.

If Trump gets pissed off at Vance in the next year or so and decides to endorse someone else like say Marco Rubio, then Vance's goose is cooked. He's not popular in basically any other wing of the party anymore but MAGA.

I think Vance is smart enough not to ruin his golden goose. He is fully aware he sits in the 2028 drivers seat.

It’s not helping Dems that they are running on moderate platforms then getting into office and engaging hard left batshit crazy policies

hello Abigail Spamburger

They simply cannot be trusted to hold off the crazy leftists

If they are smart, they will run Shapiro. He is a lock to pull PA. MI and WI likely to follow suit. That would make the election extremely tight.

The only question is, will they have the balls to back a Jewish candidate and alienate that certain section of their base?

We know they won’t

Vance’s problem is he has the personality of a wet paper bag. Rubio should be the way the R’s go. I thought in the betting markets Vance’s probabilities were already slipping pretty steadily

Yeah running Shapiro should be the biggest no brainer in the world but yeah… dumb party

I disagree. I thought he came away very impressionable during the debates and interviews. Of course, his competition was Tim Walz.

I like all the top R candidates honestly. It's a pretty deep roster at the moment. That could change in 2 years, but it looks good right now.

The whole presidency right now is a literal cult of personality
Not really. Trump isn’t likable at all outside of a couple of funny pot shots. Trumps about not being a woke pussy all of the time and not caring about people’s feelings

Comparing Rubio being likable to JD is just honey crisp vs honey snacks debate

If D were smart with their nomination, they’d go with a moderate governor actually producing acceptable results (including Shapiro).

If R were smart with their nomination, they’d go outside this increasingly unpopular administration.
