It's enjoyable watching the Phillies get this old overnight.
It's like they didn't learn their lessons from the early 2010s when Utley, Howard, Ruiz, and Rollins got older.

Seems like they were backed into a corner and forced to hope for the best with these older hitters, simply because they are unable to develop any prospects to provide anything on the hitting side.

For real. The last hitting prospect to come through their system that's been a consistent star is JP Crawford, who broke out on another team.
They hit the lottery with Wheeler, who transitioned from solid mid rotation pitcher, into a top 5 pitcher baseball after turning 30.

And the Marlins have probably developed the second most and they are just developing them for other teams.

It is the 15 year anniversary of 2011.
We also had a first year manager and a comfortable lead in the standings.
And both managers had goatees.
Both stand at the top of the dugout with their arms crossed all the time.
Both proteges of their predecessors, that went to manage a smaller market team and then got fired.
