For good reason. Urbanization and higher population density is one of the most cost effective ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

I don’t think this criticism is quite as relevant here, as it’s a case where the people you mostly disagree with looked at a man-made system that observably makes their environments hotter and concluded that the science doesn’t support doing much of anything about it because of how immense the Earth is.
