Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

No one said Trump broke the law
Seems like he can’t have a justifiable opinion either. Comey committed treason. Then he advertised killing the president of the United States.

Death by hanging seems reasonable.

What’s the mechanism to ensure the head of the fbi doesn’t do this again in the future?

Hiring one who only cares about drinking at sporting events and social media algorithms.

Cool - guess that means you’re ok with comey doing both of those things I referenced and then no repercussions.

Kash is fantastic and doing a great job.

Do you agree with my suggestion that the Dems have a a growing segment of their base that think theft against corporations is fine and murdering capitalists is “understandable”?

I’ll allow you to hand wave the rest, but I have noticed you haven’t directly engaged with the specific claim I put forth.
I think you’re ultimately correct about the trend but that the underlying issue driving the uptick in political violence is being caused by other problematic societal trends. I don’t see the Democratic Party (official) endorsing gun violence, but I have seen a shift in the past decade or so when it comes to how much politics is the core of someone’s life. So it does make some sense to me that there would be an uptick in gun violence aimed at politicians as the same disturbed people who have been shooting at everyone else in America are suddenly consumed by politics.

Our lawmakers don’t live in a bubble outside of that reality, so I think it’s important for our leaders to do more to forcefully condemn violence and tone down the rhetoric. Part of that includes calling out those like Piker who are spewing the type of radical bullshit you bring up. But I think we also need to be careful when it comes to pretending that Nancy Pelosi calling for people to cause a scene is violent and incendiary rhetoric as the right-wing media is doing in the wake of these events.

He's set to be fired. I'll wait for the big Polymarket bets to come from the administration. When Rubio lays down the 6 figures you know it's gonna happen.

I’m all for saying fuck the FBI but this indictment against Comey is just run-of-the-mill lawfare and anti-free speech nonsense.

Why is the violence coming from mostly one side though?

I don’t think it is, I just think the violence being done against Conservatives have been more high profile.
You actually don’t think it is or are compelled to say that because it leads to a very uncomfortable truth?
