I’m not sure how, the only things being allegedly offered here are things Trump himself caused to be issues in the first place. If the economy recovers from his war by the midterms he might be fine, but it’s not a feather in his cap.

Iran not having the means to a NUKE and possible regime change would be gigantic. Did Trump cause issues with Russia? Remind me. Russia back in line would be huge.
I'd love to have the narrowest of concerns like gas prices and corporate worker protections when you have innocents being hung in the streets and women being raped and killed.

What exactly have we done to resolve this issue? The Trump Administration has consistently sold this war as *not* looking to do regime change, and as of right now there’s still no indication that we’ve left the citizens of Iran in any better place than they were before.
Get off your fucking high horse, I’d love for the people of Iran to be free of violence and oppression. I simply don’t see this as a viable step toward that outcome, and do not trust the Trump Admin to actually help the citizens of Iran in any meaningful way. I also find it a touch gross that the same people who want to kick out Iranians and other entire groups, dismiss the deaths of countless Palestinian civilians and now Iranian citizens, and generally call anybody from that (and other) region a threat try to use their plight for political points.
Russia isn’t Trump’s fault, but I can’t fathom potentially strengthening our trade relationship with Russia is going to be a political winner given how narrow the group of pro-Russia and pro-global trade voters must be.

The world of "socialism" is varied and nuanced. Countries that are committed to providing a strong social safety net are constantly tinkering to get the balance right. Of course, what some around here call "socialism" is really a mixed economy, which is pretty much all modern countries have.

The prominent DSA’s in this country love to say they want something that looks like the Nordic countries rather than the Venezuela’s of the world, but I don’t see any grappling with how often their preferred policies run in opposition to what the Nordic states are actually doing.
I think this cuts both ways, though. Even if those countries aren’t the socialist utopia the left might make them out to be, they have not seen the disastrous outcomes the Venezuelas of the world have. I can’t help but think the disparities between the Nordic states and Central and South American countries suggest that external geopolitical factors are perhaps the biggest predictor of success in today’s world.
