Can we please move him to the bullpen as a long innings relief and let Wood get his spot back in the Rotation. Santana is garbage recently and dont see it getting any better. Walking a batter hitting .167 with 2 outs and a 5 run lead doesn't deserve a place in the rotation.

For 14 Million, it won't happen. haha and he's a good pitcher who just isn't pitching well right now. Harang goes into the BP before anyone. I do want Wood back into the rotation though.

Laird has caught Santana's last two terrible outings, just need to switch him back to Gattis and hope they start working well together again. Santana is better than this so hopefully it's just a slump, moving him to the bullpen isn't the answer.

Santana isn't being dropped from the rotation, Harang should be though for Wood.

This is a ridiculous thread, that's not going to happen and for the person that mentioned Uggla and all his money on the bench, that's because he's sucked now for the last three seasons. He's earned his spot on the pine.

While I agree it is a big overreaction, I don't think he is questioning leaving Uggla on the bench. I think he was arguing that money shouldn't be the deciding factor. But as you note Uggla has been terrible for a long while. Santana is hopefully just in a slump. It's not like he's struggled all year, it's just his last few have been very bad so seems worse.
Plus I'm not sure we go very far without Santana. I just hope this isn't a reversion just a little bad spell all of his last 3 starts show one thing he's giving up homers at in opportune times. Off topic, but it's actually reassuring to know that Julio attributes his game 3 nlds trouble to not being able to grip the baseball I don't remember hearing about that then the general consensus seemed to be that the pressure was too much and he chocked.

We all knew Santana would give up homers, he just needs to start keeping them at solo shots. Obviously, if he's giving up three run homers he isn't going to do well.

Throwing an off-speed pitch with that count was nuts of him and Laird for calling it. If you're leading 6-1 you must throw a fastball there. No excuse all those off-speed pitches and the timing of some of them were terrible. That is why I was questioning Laird about the game he called, he known for calling it backwards (off-speed in fastball counts, etc). But everyone else knows that about him by now so it hardly tricks anyone.
