He says he's been dealing with it all yearSkubal was definitely hurt when he pitched against the Braves.
I will not tolerate slander of Cy's mom on here. She's contributed too much content for this website.I hate loose bodies.
That's probably why they didn't let him pitch more in the WBC.Skubal was definitely hurt when he pitched against the Braves.
Give the Chris Davis deal a run?Anyone check on Willy Adames lately? 61 WRC+ and -0.5 fWAR. Dude is even a negative defender right now. A lot around here wanted him just not at the price the Giants paid. Could be an all-time albatross of a contract.
Wonder if AA could buy low on Anthony Volpe
Fair enough. I don’t think one year of defensive data is enough for me to say he’s no longer good there, considering he was considered a good defensive SS prospect and was good in the majors until last year.Nah.
Unless the cost is low enough where he is basically given away, there isn't much reason to bring him in.
We have Kim, Dubon, and Mateo already at the major league level for the rest of the year.
Volpe has always been a poor hitter. His only redeeming quality has been his defense, which really took a nosedive last year to the point where he might now be a 2b only. And we have an even deeper glut of 2b options between ML and AAA rosters.
His defensive stats have been all over the place. DRS loved him in 2023 with elite grades, but in 2024 while he still generated good metrics, DRS gave him a significant downgrade. OOA was the opposite, as it had Volpe as roughly average in 2023 and then graded him as an elite defender in 2024. Neither metric viewed his 2025 season very well, though DRS did have him positive overall.Fair enough. I don’t think one year of defensive data is enough for me to say he’s no longer good there, considering he was considered a good defensive SS prospect and was good in the majors until last year.
I was thinking for more future and not for this year. Though none of those guys are good enough to prevent me from acquiring a potential long-term solution.
Inserted into the Astros lineup after Carlos Correa was scratched, Braden Shewmake went 2-for-3 and homered off Shohei Ohtani in the win over the Dodgers.
I'm so glad the Braves didn't sign that douche.
Biggest POS in baseball.I'm so glad the Braves didn't sign that douche.
