what i love about this
is the total random pulling of bull**** numbers out of thin air when you could most likely actually find the numbers

Well I'd guess he's probably right about if for a few reasons. First being you're more likely to rob because of need for money.
As far as homicide, homicide stats are based on conviction which again is based off money.
And with the murders in 2011 being convicted by nearly 50% white folks, I'm guessing his numbers are wrong anyway.

That's not how it works. Blacks are significantly more likely than whites to be in gangs, commit violent crimes and commit hate crimes. Generally speaking, I think it's more a fear of gang members than it is black people.

I don't think you've been to south Philly recently if you think its dominated by white folk. It's probably about a 50/50 mix of non-hispanic white and other races so it's more than many other poor major parts of cities, but from my experiences the white people live in the not so poor parts. Either the hipster sections or the working class sections. The poor parts of south philly in my experience are largely dominated by blacks. I'm not an expert of course, just someone who spent a lot of time there.

The many years ago I frequented South Philly it was an Italian enclave where one had to be aware of the neighborhoods and boundries.
Guess I showed my age
Next I expect someone will chime in telling me the Irish have been run out of S Boston!
Fair enough -- but my point is the same even if my demographics are outdated

There still is an Italian presence there (the Italian Market and many other parts) but for the large part the Italian-Americans migrated from south philly to New Jersey. Could say the same really for other former italian hotbeds in Philly like Germantown and Manayunk.
Basically once urban life was gone and suburbia took over the migration started then IIRC it really took over in the 80s and 90s.
