GDT 5-8: Braves-Dodgers Game 1

That’s more of an MLB problem. Technically any of the 26 guys on a roster can stand on the mound and throw the ball at any time. It’s not the Dodgers’ fault Ohtani is good at it.

Teams should be able to set their 26-man however they want. All those years Snit never utilized the bench, we could have used an extra reliever.
I think that’s what AA is getting at.

Don’t limit everyone else but the Dodgers

I'm just dumbfounded that a team who has led baseball 95% of the year in hitting with RISP just suddenly forgets how to do so against the Dodgers. 10 men left on base is abhorrent, especially against the low men on their roster.

Yaz, specifically, refusing to be a competent major-leaguer is killing us. He just needs to be benched so we can win a few games and get out of this self-imposed rut. They were outplayed in Game 3 against the Mariners, but every single loss otherwise has been because of shit like last night. Just stupid baseball. It should have easily been tied going into extras, if not a one-run lead.

The Braves have a long history of forgetting how to play baseball in LA.

I don't know how you would address ohtani being able to be an extra pitcher. How about if you throw one pitch in a game, you count as a pitcher on the roster. This would get rid of the dumb position guys finishing out games in blow outs also.

Yeah. 2023 was the last time and one of the only times where we went to LA and didn't seem phased by being in LA. That was Ronald's enormous slam and then that 500 foot homer to dead center his MVP year.

2021 NLCS too but Rosario was in god mode

They lost 2 out of 3 there in the NLCS.

What I wouldn’t give to have 2-4 more years of that Ronnie

I don't expect to win today, so all I'm hoping for is strider becoming a #3. His TOR days are over and a backend starter is depressing

Would you rather have Strider tonight, or trot out Blake Snell?

You need to head over to the Duff Brewery and then Pat O’Brien’s… and then get behind the idea that Strider may not be a TOR ace any more, but he’s still going to be pretty effective…we got this tonight

I had a duff yesterday. I'm at epic today, and it's about 136 degrees

People have been making excuses for striders lack of stuff for quite a while now, waiting for any of it to come back.
