Mitchell isn't going anywhere and you can technically keep them all if you're willing to pay the tax.

Jalen got cheaper because of injury since he didn't meet escalators in his max deal. Eventually I would hope these guys would take less in their next deals but who knows.

Lots of picks and still lots of guys on cheap contracts for the next 2-3 years to keep this thing going.

There are some talks of using Jalen to move up into the top 3 in this draft. Not sure how I feel about it. Economically it makes sense but the risk that this pick is as good as Jalen is HIGH.

that’s an odd rumor. Washington, Utah or Memphis wouldn’t be trading a pick

Feel like you’re underrating Jalen in addition to getting the 12th pick in a deep draft
I’m not. Jazz need ceiling and they already have a lot of money committed. I don’t think it’s likely either player will be better than Jalen, but it’s possible which is the gamble you need to take when you are small market

Sure - I get the gamble piece but you can get a star at 12 too with the right luck.

Your starting 5 with Jalen could be a top 5 lineup in the nba with some serious firepower off the bench.

What would the Jazz have to send out salary wise? Problem is Jalen is due $40-50 a year and I’d assume you’re putting him with Lauri and JJJ who are also making a ton of money. In the 2nd apron era, I’m not sure I’d want three guys making $50 a year and none of the three are a lock all NBA player. I think you’d be capping the ceiling of a team that would have no real chance against the top of the conference. I’d take AJ or Peterson and roll with it.

Yeah, Utah's already paying JJJ and Lauri. Plus they gotta pay Keyonte soon as well. In the 2nd apron era, you need cost controlled talent. Utah can get AJ or DP at 2 for a way way less cost of Jalen.

Yea this is where I’m at. That’s a lot of money for a bunch of second bananas. Worth the gamble to take a chance that one of the top 3 becomes your best player

I resent the idea of Jalen being a second banana. By that logic you would think Ajay Mitchell is a 4th option.

Thats just a circumstance of what team is he is on!
