Minor League Thread Part Deux

Never really gonna get hyped over Rookie ball stats but he looks like a legit prospect. 19 is old for GCL. He is only 8 months or so younger than our guys tearing it up in A ball. So I need to see him in A ball before I allow myself to get hyped on him. He has put up some rather unique stat lines so far. Seems to have a lot of power in his bat.
More about the K/BB rates and the exit velocity. It’s elite in a small sample

112 EVs is impressive at his age, regardless of age/competition.

Oh yeah the power is legit. Certainly makes him a prospect. I assume he is going to struggle making contact at A ball. The Braves are as aggressive as it gets at promoting prospects. So he is still at that level at that age for a reason.

Hey Deester... what do you think is going on with Cam? He's had a really rough start to the year... do you think it's real or do you think they are having him work on something specific?

It's tough to say. He's been inconsistent in the zone and hasn't found a feel for any of his pitches in my opinion. I'm not overly concerned yet as I've tried to get some word on what he's focusing on. If I'm the Braves, I'm saying screw the results and get the feel for your 2 best offerings. I'm not down on him at all. But I'd like to see him put it together soon.

Not sure a college player teeing off on high school pitching would be that impressive but it's better than alternative.
Not many college level kids putting up 112 EVs with wooden bats, even on a pitching machine.

Hell some college level kids aren't touching 112 EV with aluminum bats.
