Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

Homicide rates are lower in blue states. Facts are stubborn thangs.

Moreover, we have seen major success stories in New York, Baltimore and San Francisco in reducing crime in recent years. San Francisco had its lowest homicide rate in 70 years in 2025.

Looking forward to my annual visit next month to enjoy all the great thangs it has to offer.

Great - Lets look at homicide rates by race and see what this turns out to be.

Then lets compare peer groups across the regions (red vs blue state). Then see which states have a higher concentration of the groups committing the most murders.

Then ask yourself if that is policy driven or culture driven.

I eagerly await your take.

While on the subject of inconvenient facts:

1) Immigrants improve the country's fiscal balance

2) Immigration improves job and income growth for native-born Americans

Didn’t DC just get busted posting fake crime stats?

Yeah I think we all know the trends

Its even more than not reporting actual crimes - They don't charge minorities and immigrants so the 'data' looks convincing.,

BL knows all these things.

He has been trolling since Russian collusion blew up in his face (Germany will save the republic!!)

Its even better for educators!!!!
A salubrious side effect. But speaking personally I aint teaching to maximize my income. I do it because of the other rewards involved in the profession. Such as receiving this email this morning:

Professor,

I just wanted to say thank you for the semester. Intermediate Macroeconomics was probably the most valuable class I’ve taken so far, and it definitely changed the way I think through economic models and policy questions.

I’m planning to keep building on what I learned, especially in Econometrics this fall. I also remember you mentioned you’ll be teaching a finance course next semester that requires FIN 301, so once I finish that prerequisite, I’ll be watching for your name in future registration periods.

I truly appreciate the class and how much it pushed me to think more precisely.

Thank you again,

Nobody is leaving New York - Capital of the world. A day/night tip to Manhattan is still incredible with unlimited things to do/experience.

Anyone that leaves will have someone to replace them.

I've given up the idea of leaving NY any time in the next 10-20 years. Built up my house in a very diverse town (shocking I know) 30 minutes outside of Manhattan.

No need to go anywhere else.

I'll be there in late June.

NY City is not collapsing. It is very much in demand.
