I don't think he will hit for much power at hte major leauges. Maybe around 400 SLG. I'm just hoping his OBP will be 350

I'm pretty sure his major league slugging % is going to be closer to his AAA numbers than his AA numbers. Perhaps a small wager is in order.
 
Man, it would be great if a career .150 iso guy in the minors at league appropriate or slightly older for the league would put up a .474 slugging percentage in the majors.

that's what we need, not another slugger. Lineup construction will be interesting (although probably not crucial).Does he supplant Heyward or BJ or just hit 8th like Pastor did?
 
I didn't imply that he would hit for a .474 slugging % in the majors. The point was, everyone keeps saying how the guy has absolutely no power and I don't agree with that.

His career numbers are quite good. Although he's struggled a bit this year, I'd say what he's done this year is probably his floor power-wise. I'd happily wager a +.400 slugging % over the course of his first 200 games.

To hit him 8th would be a waste. He needs to his leadoff or second, and if he sucks like everyone else, then 8th.

I think he'll be around .400, but in the interest of the sporting challenge I'll take the under.

Actually it make sense to have a #8 hitter with good on base skills but limited speed. Well perhaps I am being overly optimistic about our pitchers' bunting skills.

Let me rephrase. To hit him 8th on this team with inconsistencies galore in the first two spots, is stupid.

Yea, seriously: OBP's nice; no power, whatever. The real question we should be asking: How's his bunt-tool?
 
Do we have a spot free on the 40man roster?

Or is someone transferred to the 60-day DL? Or do they put Beachy, Gearrin or Venters to this list before?

Valid question. He's never had more than three sacrifices in a season, none this year at Gwinnett. But he did have 10 sacrifice Flies one year.
 
I was off by two days on this a month ago. I thought it would be before the Boston series. Turns out it's before the away half.

Throw him in the deep end. Lead him off, let's see what we've got. (Pretty sure Fredi will bat him second.)

I expect Fredi to bat him 8th. I'd prefer him 8th over 2nd. I want BJ to stay where he is... he's actually looking good.
