GDT #56, 6/1/14: Braves (Harang) vs. Marlins (Eovaldi), 1:10 EDT

Slightly lower LD%, more FBs and the FBs aren't leaving the yard.

Striking out 4% more of the time won't help either. Everyone knew last years BABIP was unsustainable even with his high LD%. To combat that and still be a good hitter 1 of 2 things have to happen. Strike out less or hit more homers. Currently he's striking out at the highest rate of his career and hitting for the least amount of power. So instead of 1 or both things improving they have both gotten worse.

That's pretty much it.

You didn't miss much. The Marlins became the first team in MLB history to clinch a division on June 1 while being swept at home. ESPN awarded the division title to the Nats, because Bryce Harper has awesome hair.

The Braves were also eliminated by Florida in the Women's College World Series, which was a tough break. That Hannah Rogers is just hard to hit.

It really is the most beautiful head in MLB. I pray that his helmet flies off everytime he's pseudo-hustling to turn a single into a triple.

It's precisely the power of such prayers that cause the helmet to fly off with such frequency. Just as information wants to be free, Harper's hair wants to be adored.
